176. Help with Drum Sander Choice, Jet Vs. Supermax. I’m in the market for a drum sander, it will be used for general woodworking out of my small 1 car garage. Space is at a premium, I’m looking at the Jet and Supermax 16-32, the Jet is on sale at the moment, would need to get the casters for either unit. Any my advice would be appreciated.. Once it is up to speed, I don't notice much vibration on the drum. I find it next impossible to make the clip on the right end of the drum hold the sand paper. The clip is poorly designed and takes more strength than I possess. I thought the answer to this would be to convert to Hook and Loop and bought the conversion kit from Grizzly.I have trouble getting the belt on my Performax 16-32 to track straight. It wants to track to one side. The manual says to adjust the tension on both sides (harden one side, ease the other). This helps, but with the tension on one side really cranked up, and the other quite loose, it still gradually wants to walk over.Performax 16-32 outfeed.
